About

Nisaba's founding.

NISABA is named after the Mesopotamian Goddess who was the entrepreneur & philanthropist of her time.

As the Goddess of wisdom, learning, scribing & harvest, she also dedicated her time to partner with fellow Goddesses to serve those in need such as refugees, widows, orphans & people who were homeless.

We channel her ancestry into our work.

Our story began with our founder Monette, who collected donations in & around London for families & orphans displaced by the Syrian war. An emphasis was soon placed on Menstrual health as it was clear this subject remained taboo & inconsequential.

Demand began to grow alongside the cost of living in the UK, where people awaiting their asylum claim found societal barriers hinder their access to essential menstrual health support.

NISABA was founded to meet the need of demand for people & separated children who menstruate.
